Each year, the country generates enough waste to create 12 new 'peaks' in the Himalayan mountain range, stack 240 x Qutub Minar on top of each other, or fill Delhi's Red Fort over 1,200 times.

By 2030, this waste will increase to 165 million tons, with 77% currently ending up in open landfills, severely impacting local and indigenous communities. The paper, textile, and agriculture industries are among the top 10 sectors contributing to this damage.
